WSS-NY 2016 Newsletter 9 - Hotels and More

The much anticipated information regarding discounted hotel accommodations is contained in the lead article in World Stamp Show-NY 2016's ninth quarterly newsletter. It was timed to be released less than a week before the opening of APS StampShow in Grand Rapids, taking place August 19-23. The newsletter can be downloaded from http://www.ny2016.org/images/ny2016newsletters/2015-08-newsletter9.pdf.
A total of 26 properties are available for show goers to reserve through WSS-NY 2016's hotel consolidator, Experient.  All are 2½ to 4½ star rated and selected for their value in a wide range of price categories and amenities. Convenience to the Javits Center was another factor, ensuring all would be an easy walk to the show or to bus or subway transportation to get one there.  Nightly prices range from $99 for the Wyndham Garden Hotel-Newark to $359 for the legendary Waldorf Astoria. All reservations may be canceled within 48 hours of arrival without a cancellation fee or penalty.
While over 15,000 room nights are represented among the various hotels, they are available on a first-come basis and some may sell out quickly. Show organizers recommend reservations be made as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
“We realize hotel arrangements are probably the last hurdle potential visitors have to consider before making the final decision to attend the show,” says President Wade Saadi. “We've delayed implementation of our hotel reservation system until now to ensure the widest range of accommodations at the absolutely best prices and cancellation guarantees. Our hotelier partner, Experient, has put together a great reservation web site to take care of all needs.”
Following that article is one that describes using the new MyNY2016 app. It allows show goers to create their own personalized meeting and event schedule, accessible on mobile devices and PCs.  In the weeks and months to come items will be added to the listings.
The balance of the newsletter has details about the Beginner’s Pavilion, theme day subjects, an auctioneer update, philatelic gems to be seen at WSS-NY 2016, the United States Classics Society dinner, and more.
Attendees to StampShow are encouraged to visit the World Stamp Show-NY 2016 show booth (Booth BB in the back right corner of the dealer stands near the exhibits) to meet with show representatives, ask questions and pick up a free souvenir pin.
Exhibitors!  Applications are due to your national commissioners no later than August 22.
