Informace České pošty pro filatelisty:

Po vydání poštovní známky k 700. výročí narození českého krále a římského císaře Karla IV. bylo zjištěno, že došlo k tiskové chybě v latinském textu na okraji aršíku (mimo poštovní známku). Ve slově KAROLUS QUARTUS došlo k přesmyčce za nesprávné QUATRUS. 

Vzhledem k významu osobnosti Karla IV. se Česká pošta rozhodla aršík vytisknout znovu a správně.

Poštovní známky s nominální hodnotou 54 Kč se tisková chyba nedotkla a je stále v platnosti. Neprodaná část aršíků byla stažena z prodeje a vytržené známky budou využity jiným poštovním způsobem. K poštovním přepážkám je distribuováno 35.000 ks nových aršíků se správným textem.

Podle informací obchodní firmy POFIS budou v katalogu českých poštovních známek POFIS obě varianty A 0885 uvedeny a samostatně označeny.

Nach der Ausgabe des Blocks zum 700. Jahrestag des Tschechischen Königs und römischen Kaisers Karl IV. wurde festgestellt, dass ein Druckfehler im lateinischen Text am linken Unterrand des Blocks (außerhalb der Briefmarke) passiert ist. Anstatt KAROLUS QUARTUS wurde QUATRUS gedruckt. 

In Bezug auf die Bedeutung der Persönlichkeit Karl´s IV. hat sich die Tschechische Post entschieden, den Block noch einmal und richtig zu drucken.

Bei der Briefmarke selbst,  mit dem Nominalwert von CZK 54 ist der Fehler nicht aufgetreten, und deshalb ist sie immer noch gültig. Der nicht verkaufte Teil wurde zurückgezogen und die nicht herausgerissenen Briefmarken werden in anderer Art posttechnisch verwendet.An die Postschalter werden 35.000 Stk. der neuen Blöcke mit dem richtigen Text verteilt. 

Nach Informationen der Firma POFIS werden in dem Katalog für Tschechische Briefmarken beide Varianten des Blocks A 0885 angeführt und separat katalogisiert.

Information Czech Post for philatelists:

A printing error was discovered in the Latin text in the margin (outside the postage stamp) of the miniature sheet commemorating the 700th anniversary of birth of the Czech King and Roman Emperor Charles IV. The letters R and T in the name KAROLUS QUARTUS were mistakenly transposed to form QUATRUS. 

With respect to the significance of Charles IV, Czech Post decided to reprint the miniature sheet in the correct way.

The CZK 54 postage stamp has been unaffected by the typo and remains valid. The unsold miniature sheets were withdrawn from circulation and the stamps torn from them will be used in another way for postal purposes. 35 thousand new miniature sheets with the correct text are being distributed to post office counters.

According to POFIS, the POFIS catalogue of Czech postage stamps will include both versions of miniature sheet A 0885, each with a separate identification.
