"St. Martin's tradition" funny stamp on FDC from Czech Republic / Timbre "Tradition de la Saint-Martin" sur FDC de République tchèque

La fête de la Saint-Martin (ou Martinmas) est célébrée le 10 novembre ou le 11 novembre en souvenir de Saint Martin de Tours, l'un des principaux saints de la Chrétienté, et de sa mise au tombeau le 11 novembre 397.
Des traditions liées à cette fête existent encore aujourd'hui principalement en Europe, dans les pays scandinaves, en Belgique, aux Pays-Bas, les pays germanophones ou dans certains pays d'Europe centrale comme la Slovaquie ou la République tchèque.
Le 24 octobre 2018, la poste tchèque a célébré avec humour cette tradition de la Saint-Martin à travers un timbre conçu par le célèbre artiste et poète tchèque Jiří Slíva.

Traditions related to this Day still exist today mainly in Europe, in the Scandinavian countries, in Belgium, in the Netherlands, the German-speaking countries or in some countries of Central Europe like Slovakia or Czech Republic.
On October 24, 2018, the Czech Post humorously celebrated this tradition of St. Martin through a stamp designed by the famous Czech artist and poet Jiří Slíva.
