Octogonal stamp to pay tribute to painter Édouard Vuillard on FDC from France / Timbre octogonal en hommage au peintre Édouard Vuillard sur FDC de France

Le 11 juin 2018 (vente générale), la poste française a mis en circulation le premier timbre de forme octogonale de son histoire, consacré au 150ème anniversaire de la naissance du peintre, dessinateur et graveur Édouard Vuillard (1868-1940).
La forme de ce timbre respecte en fait l'œuvre reproduite, également de forme octogonale, un autoportrait exécuté vers 1890 (collections du musée d'Orsay).
Ce timbre (1,30€, tirage : 185000), imprimé en feuillet de 9 timbres, figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessous, avec TAD du 8 juin 2018 de Cuiseaux (71), sa ville de naissance.

On June 11, 2018 (general sale), the French Post has put into circulation the first octagonal stamp of its history, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the painter, draftsman and engraver Édouard Vuillard (1868-1940).
The shape of that stamp actually respects the reproduced work, also of octagonal shape, a self-portrait executed around 1890 (collections of the Musée d'Orsay).
That stamp (€ 1.30, print run: 185,000), printed in sheet of 9 stamps, is present on the First Day Cover below, with cancellation of June 8, 2018 from Cuiseaux (71), his hometown.
