Tribute to Jerome of Prague in Czech Republic / Hommage à Jérôme de Prague en République Tchèque

Un an après son maître et ami Jan Hus, Jérôme de Prague (Jeroným Pražský) était également condamné par l'église pour hérésie lors du Concile de Constance et mourut sur le bûcher le 30 mai 1416.
Afin de commémorer le 600ème anniversaire de la mort de ce philosophe, théologien, universitaire et réformateur religieux, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation, le 20 janvier 2016, un timbre spécial le représentant au centre avec des tours rappelant l'architecture médiévale de Prague dans le fond.

One year after his master and friend Jan Hus, Jerome of Prague (Jeroným Pražský) was also condemned by the Church for heresy at the Council of Constance and died at stake on May 30, 1416.
To commemorate the 600th anniversary of the death of this philosopher, theologian, scholar and religious reformer, the Czech Post has released, on January 20, 2016, a special stamp featuring his portrait at the center with towers recalling the medieval architecture of Prague in the background.
