Exhibition dedicated to etcher Václav Hollar at the Prague Postal Museum - Special postmark / Exposition consacrée au graveur Václav Hollar au musée postal de Prague - TAD spécial
Du 31 mai au 1er octobre 2017, le musée postal de Prague organise une nouvelle exposition intitulée "Václav Hollar : gravures et timbres" ("Václav Hollar : Rytiny a známky") mettant en parallèle les œuvres de ce célèbre dessinateur et graveur (né en 1607, mort en 1677), un des plus grands maîtres de la gravure en Europe au 17ème siècle, avec les timbres tchécoslovaques puis tchèques sur lesquels elles ont été reproduites (souvent gravées par Bedřich Housa).
Hollar a travaillé dans de nombreux pays d'Europe (en Angleterre en particulier) et a représenté avec une infime minutie de nombreux paysages, plans de villes (Londres, Prague...), portraits, natures mortes, illustrations des fables d'Ésope... http://timbredujura.blogspot.com/2017/06/exhibition-dedicated-to-etcher-vaclav.html

From 31 May to 1 October 2017, the Prague Postal Museum is organizing a new exhibition entitled "Václav Hollar: engravings and stamps" ("Václav Hollar: Rytiny a známky"), in which works of arts of this famous etcher and engraver (born in 1607, died in 1677), one of the greatest masters of etching in Europe in the 17th century, are exhibited in parallel with Czechoslovakian and Czech stamps on which they were reproduced (often engraved by Bedřich Housa).
